ENOUGH IS ENOUGH
Tuesday, 08 September 2009
It has recently come to our attention that Elders Without Borders, through its representation by Michael Swinwood, has been misrepresented and misconstrued in the dissemination of propaganda related to an ongoing court matter. Elders Without Borders represents Indigenous communities who feel they have been manipulated and lied to for many years; some spanning centuries. This organization gives a voice and stands behind Indigenous people and communities who are tired of sitting at the negotiating table year after year while a few get rich at the cost of the community and its advancement.  This non-profit organization also represents those that question the relationship of the Imperial Crown to Indigenous land and its ‘assumed’ sovereignty within it. For years Indigenous nations have been told that the issue of sovereignty is a political question. This belief has resulted in never-ending negotiations and even slower implementations. This is a tragedy and there are members of this organization that believe it is our responsibility to provide that voice within the court system.
Although our lawyers are subject to attack by a vocal minority who have a clear financial interest in these arguments not moving forward, we remain true to the foundation and objectives of Elders Without Borders:  To provide a forum for the facilitation of regular gatherings of traditional Indigenous elders throughout the world, in Canada; to establish a permanent healing and reconciliation lodge, under the direction of a traditional circle composed of traditional Indigenous elders, to assist in the healing of children, men and women, primarily from the aboriginal communities in Canada; to establish permanent programs to allow traditional Indigenous elders to train native healers and others, in healing victims of sexual abuse, self-abuse, domestic violence and the adverse effects of residential schools throughout Canada; to establish programs that will allow for traditional elders to petition the proper authorities for the dedication of sacred sites throughout Canada, USA and South America; to develop programs, supervised by the circle of traditional Indigenous elders, to assist in the healing of Mother Earth in a holistic, bio-diverse and sustainable approach, throughout the world; to publish written material and video material, supervised by the circle of traditional Indigenous elders, which will assist in the healing and reconciliation of humanity throughout the world.
The members of Elders Without Borders support our colleague Michael Swinwood and reject the propaganda campaign of those with monetary vested interest in the “aboriginal consulting and professional industry.” We reject the lies, misrepresentations and manipulation of the truth, which unfortunately all our clients have to contend with. We are both confident and competent in our approach to our work. Those who seek to manipulate the truth in order to bully and manipulate others into their misguided point of view are doomed to failure.
